Backups
By far the most important aspect of your network should be backups. The best strategy is to have an onsite backup for quick recovery of lots of data, and also an off-site backup to protect against fire, theft, flooding and also deletion (intentional or unintentional).
At the risk of sounding complicated, below is a table of all the features within our backup software; however the best feature of all is that it includes what we call our “Valet Service”.
Valet Service:
- Free backup software installation via a remote-support session. We will ask you what you are looking to backup and what software packages you use to make sure it’s data is backed up. For example, if you use an older version of Simply Accounting, we know to check for data in the C:\Program Files\Winsim\Data folder. Many other backup services won’t check for this and might leave you not backed up.
- Don’t be caught with a backup that you thought was working only to find out when you most need it that it actually hasn’t worked in the last 6 months. Support tickets are automatically generated for failed backups. For desktop and laptop computers we know that they might not be on all the time, so missing a day might not be a problem. If the missed backup is unexplained, we’ll call you to check in! Hopefully the reason is that you went on vacation with the peace of mind knowing that your backups work and are current.
- Recovering files can be a scary process; especially if you’ve signed up for one of those big online backup services with no customer support and now that your computer crashed, you have no idea where your data is, what your account number is, or how on earth you will ever see your data again.
- Our Valet Service is included and provides you with all the support you need to get your files back. We can restore to your existing computer, a new computer, or even help you restore it to a co-worker’s so you can get through the day. Once over this critical hurdle, ask us about our IT services.
